Welcome to Chalk Talk Volunteer Style. It’s my hope that you will find these entries informative and entertaining as we look at Volunteer football past, present, and future from the vantage point of a guy lucky enough to be involved with the program since arriving in Knoxville in 1980 as a young running back coach. There were still several Neyland former players and coaches around the program in the early 80’s. Only years later did I realize how fortunate I was to have men like Skeeter Bailey, Ralph Chancey, Bob Davis, Gene Moeller, George Cafego and Andy Kozar share their stories of General Neyland and the Volunteer tradition. Unfortunately there aren’t many left. Chalk Talk will attempt to pass those stories and tradition along to another audience.
